Theory book
The two different variants (vdm 736 and vdm 362) of the 1501 edition are very similar. Only a close comparison reveals small differences in the title page and colophon, such as the spelling of Quentel/ Quentell in the colophon. A further oddity is that GB-Lbl K.1.h.5 has Quentel (thus corresponding to vdm 362); however, it says „millesuno“ rather than „millesimo“ in the colophon.
Melchior Schanppecher is the author of the last two parts of the book, the Musica figurativa.
